A collaboration with the Aguirre Sisters and Naufus Figueroa
Marisol documents a ritual conducted by the Aguirre sisters of Iztapa, Guatemala. They are priestesses of Maximon who were previously consulted by members of the Figueroa family. I visited the sisters and asked them questions regarding matters of personal improvement in my life. The sisters used traditional Guatemalan folk magic during my session. They viewed the taping of this work as a collaboration, and wrote a text for the video explaining their practices.
