the body glorious/holding light

I have always been interested in the intersections of video projection with the body in performance art. Derrida speaks of the body illuminated in its relative transparency, which I investigated through the use of projection. He calls forward the implications of the interconnectedness of our bodies in his text, which he refers to as the assembly of the corps/body. This work applied to the goals of the Desformes Festival. The curatorial theme of the festival was “the body and the other”. Curator Gonzalo Rabanal states, “Desformes contributes to recover the importance of the body in the arts in Chile, combining different expressive resources such as video, projection, objects, sounds, dialogue etc, converting the body into the main axis of the conception of knowledge.”
